Hachette Book Group’s central advertising team is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Advertising Associate to support the planning, execution, and reporting of programmatic advertising campaigns across adult fiction, nonfiction, and gifts. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in book publishing and programmatic advertising while collaborating with teams across many divisions.
The Advertising Associate, Advertising will help manage campaigns from ideation through reporting, contribute insights on campaign performance, and support the ongoing development of Hachette’s advertising programs. This role reports to the Associate Director, Advertising on the central advertising team and works closely with marketing teams, finance, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support advertising campaigns through all phases, including ideation, planning, revisions, creative development, trafficking, optimization, and reporting.
  • Assist in developing data-informed advertising plans using insights and past campaign performance.
  • Coordinate the creative process and ensure campaigns are properly trafficked within internal systems.
  • Monitor and help optimize campaign performance; share updates, insights, and recommendations with stakeholders.
  • Conduct research on advertising trends, audience behavior, and emerging platforms across adult publishing genres.
  • Assist with testing new advertising strategies and compiling learnings.
  • Coordinate with the finance team to track budgets, process invoices, and manage payments in a timely matter.
  • Provide administrative support, including creating presentations and reports, scheduling meetings, and maintaining documentation.
  • Help maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal marketing teams to support smooth campaign execution.
  • Contribute to improving internal processes, workflows, and best practices.

  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Interest in book publishing, digital advertising, and social platform
Preferred Experience
  • 1–2 years of experience in marketing, advertising, or publishing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with digital advertising platforms (e.g., Amazon Advertising, Facebook, TikTok, Google, etc.) is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of the marketing funnel, campaign metrics, and advertising KPIs.

The compensation range for this position is $55,000 - $58,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
